As secretary, Annet manages documentation, records meeting minutes, writes reports, and ensures effective communication across all levels.
Annette is an applied anthropologist, a woman human rights defender, and a community organizer affiliated with the Social Justice Movement Working Group- Kenya. Her work centers on advancing women and girls’ rights by grounding advocacy in lived experiences, cultural contexts, and community-generated knowledge.
She is the convenor of Winam Community Social Justice Centre based in the informal settlements of Nyalenda, Kisumu, where she works closely with communities to address local injustices through awareness-raising, participatory education, and rights-based action. Her work emphasizes digital literacy and protection for women and girls. Through her academic training and grassroots practice, Annette is committed to promoting equitable access to information and resources, strengthening community leadership, and fostering sustainable social change rooted in dignity, justice, and collective power.
Annette also serves as the secretary of the Women in Justice Centers (WIJC) Western Chapter Committee, contributing to regional coordination, documentation, and strengthening collective action among women human rights defenders.
